Granito: Every Memory Matters
Granito: Every Memory Matters was created to help recover the Guatemalan collective memory, both for people living in the Guatemalan territory, as for the 1.3 million living in the U.S. The project provides a platform, process, and tools for the collection and sharing of stories related to the internal armed conflict in Guatemala from 1976 to 1985. This conflict, led by the military, is generally acknowledged as being a genocidal war against the indigenous population, in which an estimated 200,000 Guatemalans were killed and left 45,000 people missing.
It is also being shown as an interactive installation at film festivals and events.
